No metre, kilometre or kilogram shall darken England's shores

The European Union has raised the white flag, a bid to move England into the metric system that began back in 1965 has been abandoned, as the EU bureaucrats came to the conclusion that the ancient, but still in use and much beloved Imperial system was becoming a cause of unity among the British.

At one time by EU orders scales were being confiscated in England because they dared to use the standard Imperial measurements, a situation that caused a giant backlash across that nation and leaving the EU to allow the UK to continue using pounds, miles and pints as units of measurement indefinitely.

Any further discussions on the goal of metrication will fall to the British parliament, if ever a British pub crawler is to give up his or her pint of beer, it will only be through a law passed and acted upon through the British Parliament.

A body that will tinker with tradition at its peril we suspect.
