While we were asleep!

Well another earthquake has come and gone and I managed to sleep right through it. Then again perhaps it never registered here in Prince Rupert.

At any rate, the Queen Charlotte Islands apparently had a 5.5 event at 3:02 this morning, the quake which appears to have been centered just south of the Charlottes and west of Bella Bella, doesn't appear to have resulted in any damage. As I have yet to come across any news items about the earthquake. Judging by this map from Natural Resources Canada, it's not that unusual an occurrence for earthquakes to happen in this particular stretch of ocean, and didn't seem to register much attention 333 km north in Rupert.

Just a reminder to make sure you pay the premiums on your earthquake insurance.
