Is it getting hot in here?

Well it’s a novel approach at getting your message across, but one wonders if it didn’t contribute to an increase in greenhouse gases.

A conference on climate change hosted by the Australian government, miscalculated the appeal of the entertainment provided for the delegates and ended up being cancelled mired in controversy. .

Attendees of the Australia and New Zealand Climate Forum in Canberra, walked out and ended up stopping the show, when scantily clad women took to the stage and performed suggestive dances all to a fifties music beat.

In an understatement, conference organizers at Australia National University stated “In retrospect the choice of entertainment was inappropriate for the occasion”. More worrisome for the organizers is the fact that the government now wants its sponsorship money back, as the conference didn’t quite fit the bill as far as a forum for sober scientific thought.

Why they went the burlesque show approach to scientific research is anyone’s guess, but we can only assume it was to show that science can be anything but dull.

There's no truth to the rumour that the dancing girls went by the name the Greenhouse Gals!
