Guerilla warfare in the bookstores and libraries

The legion of Orwell has a warning to all those that stock the shelves of your local library or bookstore, be careful where place the works of George Orwell. Apparently feeling that current and past events have moved him from the realm of fiction to fact and maybe history, they have taken it upon themselves to re-assign his works to a more appropriate spot on the shelf.

While doing some mindless surfing, I came across this link, which takes a look at an entry from last August which outlines the plans of a blogger from Berkeley, California (long a hot bed of sedition eh!) and her friends to launch their plan to repopulate the bookshelves of the nations with Orwellian tomes in new locations. Perhaps your local library could offer up a room 101 for the collection, keeping in mind that all books are equal, but some books are more equal than others!.

Calling themselves the "Ministry of Re-shelving", they outlined detailed instructions on how you could join the revolution. One wonders how they fared in the amount of time that has passed since the project first began. For further study be sure to read the comments provided by those that read their initial item, some pretty annoyed booksellers vented quite
loudly at the disorder planned by our literary revolutionaries!

Considering the travails of our local library in Podunk, messing with the Orwell collection is probably the least of the worries for the over stressed crew working over at 6th Avenue. But then again, having to deal with the interesting ways of the folks at City Hall, they possibly more than anyone else might have an understanding of separating fact from fiction!
