Bruce Springsteen-Eyes on the Prize
Fans of Springsteen will be heartened by the news that his latest release Magic, is soon to be out on the market, the first recording feature the complete E Street Band since The Rising came out after 9/11.
The first single from the album Magic, has been making the rounds of the Internet the last few days and now has become a "free" selection for a limited time on iTunes, Radio Nowhere is a straight ahead rocker and brings Springsteen and his band back to what they do best, the raging guitars drums, keyboards and saxophone that have become the signature of his music and his bands sound.
The album which few even knew was coming our way is said to feature much of the early rock and roll influence of his career and will have his fans thinking back to the days of Born to Run and Darkness on the Edge of Town.
While we wait for October 2nd to roll around, we can look back at the recent touring ensemble that he put together in support of his Seeger sessions, an album that relived the music and messages of Pete Seeger the iconic folk singer of American legend who recounted the troubles and successes of the common man.
Tonight on the Music Club, we cull a song from the Dublin sessions, a production that showcased the Seeger selections to their finest potential, Eyes on the Prize had many evolutions but became probably best known for it's use during the civil rights era of the fifties and sixties. A powerful song, steeped in imagery and brought to life nicely by Bruce. You can hear the passion for his music in the timbre of his voice and the energy he brings to the song.
With his new album set to be rocking out again, he seems to easily move from genre quite readily, providing a wide variety of music and interpretations from a very vast catalogue. He brings back the golden era of the story telling songwriter with his true to form interpretation of the Seeger inspired songs. Just another amazing addition to his legendary sounds.
