It works out to 65,000 a hand, thirteen thousand a finger!

There’s a bit of eyebrow raising happening on Vancouver Island, as The Vancouver Island Health Authority gets set to spend 130,000 dollars to make sure that its employees know how to wash their hands properly.

Now if there’s one group that we would like to think have the concept down on proper hygiene it would be the doctors, nurses and lab assistants of the medical system, but it seems that’s just not always as it should be. Sometimes it appears that they require a refresher course.

So to make sure that everyone is up to speed on the proper form of washing one’s hands, they’ll pony up the cash to host workshops and hold practice sessions so the health professionals are fully up to speed on the new ways of using water and soap!

Perhaps they’ll engage in a group sing along of that old children’s favorite, “this is the way we wash our hands,” something that they probably learned back in the early days of med school.

But really is the 130,000 really necessary? A simple search on You Tube turns up countless offerings on the proper way of washing your hands, we provide this one here for some home study before the big exam.

If the Vancouver Island Health Authority wishes they can forward their payment to our Cayman Island account… No better place to do a little laundering eh!
