Scientists at MIT say they've developed an energy transfer system that will result in wireless devices are always ready to go.
No more searching the house for batteries or cursing when they run down just as your favourite song comes up.
The process called "WiTricity" by the MIT team that created it, will have its limitations though, the power in the air probably won't extend much further than a room or a factory floor.
With all that electricity in the air you have to wonder how that may impact on your day to day life, for instance those static electricity shocks we occassionally get now, may be a bit more interesting in the future.
