BC Ferries to reopen inquiry into Queen of the North sinking


BC Ferries citing newly discovered information is going to reopen its inquiry into the events that led up to the sinking of the Queen of the North in March of 2006. A move that could delay the release of the Federal Transportation Safety Board's report that was due out this summer.

It's reported that the heart of the reopened investigation will be the status of fourth officer Karl Lilgert, who was originally reported to be on the bridge when the ferry sank. Media reports suggest that it's believed that the Ferry Corporation is planning on challenging that belief, owing to the recently discovered information.
