It’s getting to be a tad crowded here on the Podunkian front porch

The sudden increase in web portals dedicated to Prince Rupert is an interesting thing to watch. In the short period of less than a week we’ve seen the addition of not one but two new web sites dedicated to all things Prince Rupert and area.

Earlier this week we witnessed the introduction of Prince Rupert: Inside the City a new portal of information and potential advertising about the numerous happenings in the city.

Today, we learn that yet another link between Prince Rupert and the wired world was introduced, a new plot of the blogoshpere called Prince Rupert Daily on line, a portal that seems to be set up with the hope of attracting local sponsors to its links and web pages.

Like spring flowers it seems, web portals are popping up everywhere. What remains to be seen is how many survive the early growing season or which ones will burst out in colour early but end up going to the weeds as time goes by.

Over the years we've seen a few websites and blogs come and go, some were good, others not so, but all tried in their way to represent the authors thoughts about life on the north coast.

We wish all of the newest entries to the grind, the best of luck as they try to carve out a niche in the bandwidths of Podunk.
