Changes in visiting procedures at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital

In an attempt to try and provide better care for those that need it most; officials at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital have decided to shorten the hours that patients can receive visitors at the hospital’s patient care unit.

In an announcement that was published in Wednesday’s Daily News the hospital advised that effective immediately the visiting hours would be from 2 pm to 8 pm.

It’s a move that may provide a bit of calm in what can sometimes bee a very hectic and noisy place as family members and friends sometimes take advantage of the hospital’s visiting regulations.

While they are hoping to hold to the strict six hour window, there will be exceptions made for some situations, all at the appeal to the Charge Nurse.

The notice read as follows:

CHANGE IN VISITING HOURS
PRINCE RUPERT REGIONAL HOSPITAL

In order to provide our patients with the best care possible, the visiting hours at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital have been changed.

Visiting hours for the Patient Care Unit will now be 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, effective immediately.

Exceptions may apply, but must be approved by the Charge Nurse.

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
