Madonna-- 4 Minutes
We're a day late with our selection for the Music Club this week, but we felt the need to wait for the legal papers to be dropped before we launched this weeks selection.
With New York Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez finding himself in some hot water with the missus (well boiling might be more like it) we felt that only Madonna would suffice for this weeks tune. Madam M seems to be walking a path trail blazed by Mariah Carey and Marilyn Monroe with a new affection for baseball players, though neither Miss Carey nor Miss Monroe were quite as controversial in their relationships of the day.
This week in honour of her new found notoriety, we feature 4 minutes, which judging by the New York tabloids is about how long the soon to be Mrs. Rodriguez probably gave Alex to clear out his closets. That after reported liaisons with the once upon a time Material Girl became tabloid fodder, showing that Madge apparently still has enough material in her resume to end up with the role of the "other woman".
She's certainly come a long way from the days of frolicking with a lion in Venice... Giving hope to middle aged folks everywhere that you can still be controversial as well as musical..
