Lock it and pocket the key

The RCMP in Prince Rupert is alerting the city's residents that the best way to combat theft from your vehicles is to lock the doors and make sure nothing is visible inside of your car or truck.

Break and entries on vehicles are on the rise in the city some of them unwittingly assisted by local residents who neglect to lock their doors when leaving the vehicle.

TV7 had full details on the problem posted to their website on Thursday.
