Mush, Mush...

We found this link on the Tyee website tonight, a wonderful gateway to one of the North's great adventures the Iditarod, the legendary race over the Alaskan terrain and tundra that makes the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes look like a pony ride at the carnival.

The Iditarod, where dogs are dogs and men and women hope to coax them to the finish line some 1150 miles from the starting point.

The website allows us all to follow the pack as it is, with videos, an informational tracking map and more information than we might ever wish to know about sled dogs and the folks that ride along behind.

So bundle up in your best musher's duds and surf along with the sledders as they make their way to the finish line. A true test of endurance not found in many places and one that separates the dogs from the puppies in pretty fast fashion.

In Alaska in March, all trails lead to Nome.
