Putting the British, into British Columbia nursing

The Opinion 250 website is reporting that Northern Health has had a bit of success at a recent Nursing forum held in the United Kingdom. The Northern Health Authority has apparently offered nineteen nurses positions in Northern BC, with another 24 nurses expressing interest in opportunities here.

It is expected to take roughly six months to clear the paperwork to smooth their transit to Northern BC, where they will help to fill the roughly 65 positions currently left unfilled in the region.

The Northern Health Authority says that 19 positions for nurses have been offered at a recent Employment forum held in Manchester, England, with another 24 nurses expressing interest.
It will take about six months to get them through the immigration process.

Most are specialty nurses who want to work in the Pacific northwest of BC for Northern Health says CEO Malcolm Maxwell. "We are very pleased at what we have been able to accomplish in the recruiting process."

Right now, Northern Health has 65 full time vacancies for nurses.
