Pat Robertson, a bloggers best friend.

If ever you find yourself short of material, one can always depend on Mount Robertson to offer up a gem or two regularly. An item surely worthy of at least a link, if not a full fledged blog item.

This week once again, the man did not disappoint. Taking time to comment on the medical condition of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Minister Robertson weighed in with the opinion that the Israeli leader was merely facing the wrath of God, who it seems is according to Robertson is annoyed with Sharon's division of the Holy Lands.

Controversy is not something that is foreign to the Virginia based preacher, who has made a history of wild statements giving him far more reach from his pulpit than just the local flock.

Robertson had best be careful though, for there is another man of the cloth willing to raise the stakes in the great debate as to whom has the ear of God.

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, seems much the equal of Robertson when it comes to inflammatory statements and supposed inside information from God. Ahmadinejad had his own take on the Sharon illness and needless to say best wishes for a speedy recovery were not at the top of the talking points from Tehran.

One gets the impression that the supreme power is probably wondering what makes these two sunshine boys tick and what he needs to do to make sure it doesn't happen again.
