Hays Creek at the Civic Centre, mountain waters from nearby Mount Hays run off into the creek and head for the Pacific Ocean downstream by the Canadian Fishing Plant at Drydock Road and George Hills Way. It's also the starting point for the annual Seafest duck race.

The 2007 Cruise ship season got underway on May 9th when the Royal Caribbean Lines, "Vision of the Seas" called on Prince Rupert for the very first time. The vessel arrived early in the morning and departed for Alaskan ports of call at 6 pm.
