A cruise line prepares to pull out of the Port of Prince Rupert, Special Events Society issues a plea for help from the community and at the school closure debate in Terrace gets a one week delay, some of the items of interest from our Wednesday review of the news.

Norwegian Cruise Lines pulling out of Prince Rupert in 2012-- The last of the major cruise lines ends its association with Prince Rupert and won't return for the 2012 cruise season (see article here)

MP, Enbridge comment on passing of tanker ban motion--With the House of Common's opposition parties voting together, MP's passed a motion supporting Nathan Cullen's bid to create legislation to ban oil tankers from North coast waters, the Northern View provided some of the fallout from that vote (see article here)

Prince Rupert Special Events Society turning to community to help-- The volunteer group that organizes and sets up such events as Seafest, Winterfest and Canada Day programs is seeking the help of the community to find a new home for its materials.  Without a new storage area the organizers say many of their activities could be in jeopardy (see article here)

Decision on fate of Thornill Jr. Secondary delayed -- While trustees voted to close a school in Kitimat and reconfigure schools in both Terrace and Kitimat, the fight to save Thornhill Jr. Secondary will have at least one more week to play out as the Coast Mountain School district delays it's decision by seven days (see article here)
